Welcoming Rituals

Warm and Welcoming Rituals help to establish and maintain positive relationships.

In the classroom, from a simple smile and personalized greeting to each student (by name) as they enter your room or to a daily class meeting, a warm welcome lets your students know they matter to you. When teachers purposefully choose a Welcoming Ritual and connect it in some way to the learning of the day or to the people in the class, it strengthens the curricular connections and the climate of the class.
